Dear Lipid Droplet/Oleosome community,

Following the first postponement of the conference and the organisation of the online PhD student symposium which took place in March 2021, we gladly announce that the 2nd International Conference on Lipid Droplets & Oleosomes will take place on 2 and 3 December, 2021, Strasbourg, France.

The Conference will combine the most recent scientific developments in the areas of biology, food/soft matter, and oleosome ingredient development. It will provide a unique opportunity for experts from academia, the ingredient industry, and the wider food industry to interact and apply their knowledge and latest research findings to the design and manufacture of novel, multifunctional and sustainable fat ingredients.

  • Composition and imaging of Lipid Droplets and Oleosomes
  • Recovering Lipid Droplets and Oleosomes for industrial applications
  • Dynamic mobilization, hydrolysis, and digestion of Lipid Droplets and Oleosomes
  • Designer materials with Lipid Droplets and Oleosomes

 The meeting will be hosted at the CIARUS conference center:,

which is close to the historical center of Strasbourg and to the central railway station.

The conference registration fees are as follows:

  • €400 for a shared twin room
  • €500 for a single room

Students will have a 100 euro discount (€300 for a shared twin room and €400 for a single room)

Registration fees include two nights’ stay at the conference center, breakfast and lunch on 2 and 3 December and an invitation to the conference dinner on the evening of 2 December. Arrivals at the conference venue are expected wednesday 1 December late afternoon.

Extended stays at CIARUS center for those who would like stay a week-end in Strasbourg next December will require to contact directly CIARUS !
