VENUE, TRANSPORT AND ACCOMODATIONS

The 14th GERLI Lipidomics Meeting will take place at Hôtel Le Couvent Royal, at St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume, a city located at 44 kms east from Aix-en-Provence, along the A8 highway in the direction of Nice and the French Riviera. St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume is located in an area named « Provence Verte« , a territory in the green heart of Provence, within an hour of the largest sites in the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region, where you can discover Provencal villages, unspoiled nature, Art and History. The Sainte-Victoire Mountain, often present in Cézanne’s paintings is nearby, and if you go a little bit further to the south, you can reach the Mediterranean cost, Marseille, Cassis and the Calanques national park. This is the country of Aix Marseille University, which supports the GERLI meeting in 2018.

Le Couvent Royal hotel is located in the very nice cloister of St Maximin’s basilica.  It is considered to be the most beautiful Provencal Gothic-style structure in southeast France. The address of the hotel is: Place Jean Salusse 83470 Saint-Maximin la Sainte-Baume France

Please remember that registration to the meeting is all inclusive and includes accomodation for 3 nights (september 30, october 1 and 2, 2018) at Hôtel Le Couvent Royal or nearby hotels. The organizers will take care of hotel room allocations based on the informations given in the registration form and each participant will be notified individually of room attribution before arrival. So please do not contact the hotel directly for booking your room.

The closest Airport is Marseille-Provence (MRS) at 66 kms west from St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) is at 130 kms east from St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume via the A8 highway.

The closest TGV train station is Aix-en-Provence TGV at 56 kms west from St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume.

Both Marseille-Provence Airport and Aix-en-Provence TGV train station are connected to St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume via a bus line, Ligne Express Regionale n°36, and transportation lasts 45 to 60 min. Be careful, the number of bus departures is limited on sunday (Ligne express regionale 36_time schedules).

To facilitate your transportation to St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume on sunday, we rented an additional bus (GERLI BUS) that will leave from Marseille-Provence Airport at 15:30 on sunday september 30 (Maps for GERLI bus transportation). The same bus will stop at Aix-en-Provence TGV train station, where the next departure will be 16:00 (Maps for GERLI bus transportation). If you miss the GERLI BUS, you still have the possibility to take the LER36 bus that leaves a few minutes later or the one leaving at 20:45.

For return on wednesday october 3, the GERLI BUS to Aix-en-Provence TGV train station and Marseille-Provence Airport will leave at 13:30 from St-Maximin-la-Sainte Baume. This will allow you to have lunch at the congress site after the end of the meeting (included in your registration). If you need to leave earlier, you will have to take LER36 buses (see time schedule below).
